International Section for Prevention in the Mining Industry (ISSA Mining)

ABOUT

ISSA Mining is the International Section on Prevention in the Mining Industry, operating under the larger umbrella of the International Social Security Association (ISSA). It is a not-for-profit, global network dedicated to promoting safety, health, and well-being across mining and extractive industries. Its work is anchored by the Vision Zero prevention strategy and the 7 Golden Rules for safe and healthy mining.

This independent organization fosters international cooperation among mining enterprises, associations, researchers, regulators, governments, and other stakeholders to improve occupational safety and health through knowledge sharing, training, and best practices.

ISSA Mining currently comprises over 100 members worldwide, including a diverse mix of industry operators, safety associations, academic institutions, and government bodies across multiple continents.
